Trust is the product, not a feature
A community is only as good as the people allowed into it. These are the checks and rules that keep ours worth joining, described plainly so you know exactly what we do and do not guarantee.
Verification happens before the communities do
Membership is for registered businesses and their authorised representatives. Verification is the gate, not an optional badge.
Business registration
We confirm the company exists, is registered and is represented by someone authorised to act for it.
Trade documents
Trade licences, tax registrations and relevant certifications are reviewed during onboarding.
Real identities
Members take part under their own name and company. Anonymous accounts are not permitted.
Profile review
Capability claims, categories and catalogues are reviewed so profiles reflect what a member actually does.
Reputation is earned continuously
Weighted ratings
Ratings are weighted by genuine activity and dealings, so standing reflects conduct over time rather than one review.
Community accountability
Members who behave badly are visible to peers in their own sector, which is a stronger deterrent than any policy page.
Moderated groups
Communities are moderated, with member-set standards for relevance, tone and self-promotion.
Reporting and review
Members can report misleading profiles, spam or misconduct. Reports are reviewed and acted on.
Suspension and removal
Access can be suspended or terminated for breaching the Terms of Use or applicable law.
Activity records
Platform activity is logged, which supports investigation if a dispute between members arises.
What we collect and how we handle it
- We collect the business and contact details you provide, plus technical data such as IP and device information
- We use it to operate and improve the platform, to communicate with you and to meet legal obligations
- We do not sell personal data
- We share data only with providers who help us run the platform, or where the law requires it
- We apply industry-standard measures against unauthorised access and disclosure
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data
What we do not do
Business transactions conducted through the platform are solely between the buyer and the supplier. BizHorizons is not a party to any agreement formed between members, and we do not guarantee payment or performance by either side.
We introduce verified businesses and host the communities they meet in. Commercial due diligence, contract terms and acceptance of goods or services remain your responsibility. We would rather say that plainly than imply a protection we do not provide.
Raising a problem with another member
If a member misrepresents themselves, breaches the code of conduct or behaves in a way that damages the community, report it to us with whatever detail you have. We review reports, contact the parties involved and take action on membership where it is warranted.
Commercial disputes over a contract, payment or delivery are between you and the other party, and are governed by the terms you agreed with them. We can provide platform records relevant to the matter.
